Job Description:

Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director of Engineering to lead our R&D team in India. This role will oversee a diverse group of 50 engineers across various specialized teams, including Desktop, Online, Platform, and Infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive innovation and excellence in our engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Management:
   • Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary R&D team of 50 engineers.
   • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
   • Set clear goals, provide regular performance feedback, and support career development for team members.
2. Strategic Planning:
   • Develop and execute the engineering strategy aligned with Webgility's overall objectives.
   • Identify emerging technologies and trends to keep Webgility at the forefront of the e-commerce automation industry.
   • Collaborate with senior management to define technical roadmaps and product strategies.
3. Project Management:
   • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple engineering projects.
   • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
   • Implement best practices in project management, including Agile methodologies.
4. Technical Oversight:
   • Provide technical guidance and direction to the engineering teams.
   • Ensure the development of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software and infrastructure.
   • Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and technical assessments.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
   • Work closely with product management, marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment on product development and delivery.
   • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
   • Drive innovation by encouraging creative problem-solving and experimentation.
   • Implement processes and tools to improve engineering efficiency and product quality.
   • Monitor industry trends and competitor products to inform strategic decisions.
7. Budget & Resource Management:
   • Manage the engineering budget, including resource allocation and cost control.
   • Optimize resource utilization to maximize productivity and minimize waste.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience managing large, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong technical background with expertise in software development, architecture, and infrastructure.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
