We’re looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to support the month end closing process and help build a best-in-class Accounts Payable function. This is a highly visible role and reports to the Head of Finance. In this role, you will have an opportunity to make a difference in a socially impactful business.

  • Do you love solving puzzles?

How You Can Make An Impact.

  • A successful Staff Accountant at Enervee will setup effective processes for their work which will be essential with our fast paced and innovative business operations.
  • The visibility of our Staff Accountant is widespread throughout the company and collaborating with internal teams, as well as external business partners, to ensure accurate transactions will be essential in optimizing processes for efficient and accurate data flow
  • Staff Accountant works to evaluate and interpret analytical themes to summarize and report out through applying concepts and requirements of the business in sometimes ambiguous scenarios, but of course asking questions as needed! Listed below is the scope of responsibilities for this role:

Compliance and Accuracy:

  • Determining the proper recording of financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Adhere to accuracy & timelines for transaction recording as well as monthly close reconciliations
  • Research accounting rules and regulations and make relevant recommendations for internal accounting policies

Accounts Payable management:

  • Verifying authenticity of expenses, accurate recording of expenses, managing expense approvals & payments
  • Working with Contracts team & business stakeholders to assess business case for renewal of expenses

Reporting:

  • Complete monthly account reconciliations for assigned P&L or Balance Sheet accounts for Monthly financial close
  • Evaluate and interpret analytical themes from data and summarize reports in a comprehensible and relevant manner
  • Provide relevant reporting for annual external financial audit and periodic internal reporting

Collaboration & Process Improvements:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external business partners to ensure accurate and timely flow of information for recording of accounting transactions
  • Continuously assess processes for optimization and be proactive about making recommendations for improvements
  • Update and maintain related business processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Requirements

What you bring to the team.

In addition to your passion for saving energy and having a positive impact on the environment, Enervee’s Staff Accountant has strong data analysis and problem solving skills, a proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to prioritize, learn quickly, and deliver accurately in a fast-paced environment. Our Staff Accountant demonstrates an ability to think critically, work independently, and collaborate effectively.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience as an accounting professional in a dynamic high-growth environment
  • Experience working in SaaS, Fintech, or Commerce/Ecommerce industries is highly desirable
  • 2+ years experience managing accounts payable / full cycle accounting
  • Demonstrated experience applying innovative ideas to new or recurring work processes and seeking opportunities for continuous improvement
  • High sense of ownership
  • Ability to manage outcomes and focus on delivering results
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting with firm grasp on accounts payable, expenses, and reconciliations

Enervee is a remote first distributed team and our Staff Accountant can be based anywhere in the US, but said individual will be required to work PST hours.

The salary range for this position is: $70,000-$85,000.
